Hunter obtained his bachelor of Optometry from the University of Auckland in 2003 Hunter first built his practical experience under the watchful eye of Laurence O’connell from 2003 to 2006 Hunter then continued to provide optometry services to the Central Otago community and took ownership of the Alexandra practice in 2006. He also created the Cromwell practice in 2009. This has been very well received by the local community, which shows how needed a new Cromwell practice was. You will enjoy Hunter’s highly professional approach and his thrive to innovate locally, for example by introducing specialised equipment for detection of Glaucoma and also pioneering the Orthokeratology treatment in the region in 2010. To make your experience more enjoyable, Hunter also likes looking at things with a touch of humour.

Jessica graduated in 2011 as a Dispensing Optician from TAFE NSW. Jessica joined the team 2 years ago and has now joined in partnership with Hunter at Central Otago Optical. Her experience in providing you with unbiased advice for your eyewear has become a major asset to the practice, both in Cromwell and Alexandra. After all, it is about finding the frames and lenses that will enhance your personal style and provide you a result that is reliable over time. Prior to joining Central Optical Jessica built her knowledge with 4 years at Queenstown Eyecare and before this 5 years in Dunedin. Now you too can benefit from her trustworthy recommendations.
